Octohealth

Reduce and prevent work-related musculoskeletal diseases using cutting-edge sensors, real-time feedback and team-based solution

Eurostars

2023

THE CASE

The OctoHealth project will make the advanced, and proven, methodology researchers currently use to reduce Musculoskeletal disorders (MSD), available for commercial use at workplaces. The consortium will integrate a highly advanced (based on 10 years of research) algorithm with sensors, an advanced back-end and user-friendly interface and app.

Musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) are the prime reason for sick leave and job productivity loss (equal to 35 days/year/worker), with massive costs to society and workplaces. The current commercial state-of-the art has limited to no effect on MSD, and is based on personal experiences and subjective preferences, not based on data and proven methods. The evidence-based system used by researchers is too expensive or advanced for commercial use and thus not widely implemented. Octohealth will create the 1st commercially available (professional) solution for reducing MSD using state-of-the-art sensor technology and research methodology (25% or 7 days/year/worker reduction).

THE COLLABORATION

Walk with Path, SENS Innovation and G2G have a long history of collaboration, with funding of several projects in different grant systems. Once again, we were able to form a strong consortium, a project to pursue an R&D pathway for a new innovation that utilizes the sensory components from both SENS and Walk With Path.

G2G played a critical role in consolidating a solid business case and strategy for the solution to be developed in the project, as well as a robust go-to-market strategy by aligning the interests of the consortium participants. As for all Eurostars projects, the combination of European and national funding contributions brings very specific requirements that inevitably shape the project's work plan and budget. G2G helped the consortium navigate these requirements to design a strong implementation plan.
